In 1993, Laurence Bell founded the Domino Recording Co in a modest bedroom in Putney, South West London. Domino’s early releases featured a new generation of mainly American artists; Sebadoh, Pavement, Bonnie Prince Billy, Elliot Smith and others who needed a label home in the UK/Europe. Overtime Domino built a unique global roster with artists such as Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, Clinic, Blood Orange, The Kills, Wild Beasts, Animal Collective, Anna Calvi and Julia Holter and many more. Bell’s A&R skills have led to Domino achieving widescreen international success and confirmed the company’s reputation as a distinct voice and force in contemporary music.
