Stuart is a prolific, popular and extremely highly regarded tv and radio presenter, journalist, columnist and author. His latest book, The Pie At Night is an exploration of the folk of the north of England at play, and his previous titles, Pies and Prejudice, Adventures on the High Teas, Hope and Glory and Cider With Roadies, as well as the companion volume to his Sony Award-winning Radio 2 series The Peoples’ Songs have placed him on the best-sellers lists. He is on BBC 6Music very weekday afternoon, from 1-4pm, with Mark Radcliffe, as well as presenting The Freak Zone for 6Music on Sunday evenings, and he features regularly on Radios 4 and 3. He is a columnist for the influential and opinion-forming magazine The New Statesman, as well as  writing for Britain’s  highest selling weekly The Radio Times.
