Denga Denga
Denga Denga was started in the autumn of 2007 by Eirik Moberg and Thomas Slettebø. Moberg has earlier been active in the electronica scene under the name Rundfunk, something which resulted in the track “Hønerytme”. This was released on one of Tellé’s compilations and led to Rundfunk getting a gig as the tour dj for Datarock. When Denga Denga makes music synthesizers are still in place in a studio setting, but live the soundscape is stripped of electronica. The music is strongly inspired by 80s bands like XTC, Devo and Talking Heads, with The Ramones lurking in the shadowy corners. Autumn 2009 Denga Denga releases a 7" with four tracks on Datarock’s label YAP (Young Aspiring Professionals). This is a part of a series which has included, amongst others, John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen, Fjorden Baby! and Syntax Terrorkester. The band plan a debut album for YAP in 2010.
