Forza grew out of a drum group at an asylum centre, where the music was used as means of communication between members who couldn’t really speak together. The group gave the participants something to get involved in, to think about, and something new to explore. The various parts of the world in action gave the group strength and the members received the courage to be themselves.

Forza today is a fully formed band where the members different interpretations weld folk and western pop music. The basis lies in folk music, in the breaking point between latin, tango, balkan and Persian rhythms which Forze season with a sprinkling of hip-hop and rock influences. When the tools are traditional folk music instruments such as accordion, violin and diverse percussion the sound becomes both distinctive and unique.

In June 2008 Forza won the “Oppdrag Demo (Mission Demo)” competition in Bergens Avis and in September came their first EP accompanied by a packed release concert at Sardinen in Bergen.
