Noora is a Norwegian soul sensation, often described as “The Scandinavian Queen of Soul”. Her first album “Curious” sold around 50.000 copies and received a Hit Award for best female artist. The hit “Need You” was one of the first Nordic videos to receive rotation on The Lick/MTV and was producer team Stargate’s first success. The follow up “All I Am” was delayed for over two years due to illness, but in 2004 Noora finally completed the recording, and the album produced the radio hit “Zeros”, amongst others. After a period where Noora participated in Nelson Mandela’s 46664 concert in Tromsø, collaborated with Mike Scott (Waterboys) and Norwegian Madcon, she went into the studio in California to make her third album. “Soul Deep” came out a short time ago in Norway to fabulous reviews. Noora has recreated herself as an artist and has left behind the modern R´n´B from the first two releases, to go back to the deep roots of soul and sound of Stax and Motown. Important influences are Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, Etta James and Aretha Franklin.
