Bushman's Revenge
This young and powerful trio are led by Shining guitarist Even Helte Hermansen, and released their second full length album early in 2009. The album “You Lost Me At Hello” reveals a band which combines the rhythm section’s jazz/improv background with the guitarist’s rock/metal associations in order to create their own expressive sound, inspired as much by Black Sabbath and Jimi Hendrix as Ornette Coleman and Albert Ayler. Musically, the band present themselves with a youthful energy, as dark, heavy and dirty as the next metal or stoner band, Motorpsycho and Shining being obvious reference points.
“…the closer “Champagne For My Real Friends”, with its anthemic chorus and euphoric cords, is a well-earned, triumphant conclusion to an arresting album. (The Wire, UK)
