Benedicte Maurseth is the winner of Nordic Music Prize 2022 for her album Hárr. The annual prize was awarded Thursday afternoon, in connection with the opening of by:Larm 2022. The audience was also lucky to get a performance from Maurseth druring the ceremony.
The Jury says about Mauseths album: "A mesmerising melding of traditional folk instrumentation with modern technology and field recordings, this is music as harshly beautiful as the landscape that has inspired it, and in its own gently powerful way engaged with vital issues of ecology and community.”
Richard Dawson & Circle for Henki and Astrid Sonne for outside of your lifetime were the two honerable mentions.
