Among many exciting happenings at this year's conference, we are happy to announce Elijah as the Opening Keynote speaker at by:Larm 2023. Elijah cut his teeth as a globe-trotting DJ in the grime scene of the 2010s, working with the scene’s top talent including Kano, Skepta, JME, D Double E & Footsie and P Money. At the same time, he put on over 100 club nights in the UK and built the Butterz label (2010-2022) from scratch. Lately, Elijah has become famous for his notes on creativity and sustainable artistic practice on his Instagram account @eli1ah, known as the «Yellow Squares».

We are also welcoming Miki Berenyi, singer and guitarist of legendary 90s act Lush in conversation with Jude Rogers (The Guardian). Berenyi will share highlights from her critically acclaimed memoir Fingers Crossed, and also give the audience an unfiltered view on the highs and lows of the music world.

In addition to these conversations, we are diving into a number of hot topics within the music industry of today. We keep hearing about big companies buying up music catalogs for huge sums. How does the acquisition of rights work and what is in fact being sold? AI is also a big topic this year, with panels presented by our friends at TONO and NOPA. The successful «The State of:» series is also returning, touching on topics within A&R, management and live, a must for those who want to keep up with the latest news and trends, or learn more about the structures within the music industry.
