Thirteen new names added to the program

2021

We’re getting close! Here are 13 new artists you can look forward to seeing at by:Larm this fall. In this edition, we’re proud to present to you some of the most exciting up-and-coming names from Scandinavia and Europe. We’ve got artists ranging from avant-garde rule breakers to a pop time machine transporting us back to the reign of Frank Sinatra. We’re live from September 30th - October 2nd 2021! Ready, get set - mark your calendars!

06 BOYS

A cross between Norwegian language hip hop and traditional Scandinavian schläger culture, 06 Boys debuted with the single «Sprint» in 2020, which together with its follow-up «Boble» has received accolades and radio play in Norwegian media.

ANGÅENDE MIG

The raw energy and Danish lyrics of Angående Mig draws you deep into a universet that feels all-consuming, youthful and intense all at once.

AYKA

Ayka is the pseudonym of Ayça Lingaas, a Liverpool-born, Turkish-Norwegian modern nomad. Her by:Larm shows will be one of the handful of first concerts showcasing the honest, comical and alluring clutter of her musical brain.

DOPHA

The past year, Dopha has taken her home country of Denmark by storm. The year has seen her single swipe across the radio waves and receive nominations for national prizes, making it clear that she is a coming Danish greatness in the making.

EMIL KÁRLSEN

Emil Kárlsen, from Omasvuotna in the far north of Norway, writes music and sings in the indigenous Sámi language, but with a sound you have not heard from the Sámi homeland before: a modern band foundation with melodic vocals and poetic lyrics weaved in with classical strings and whirling sonic universes.

HANNAH STORM

Hannah Storm’s music is influenced by Amy Winehouse, Susanne Sundfør, Adele, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles. Her unreleased discography ties to names like Matias Tellez, Vetle Junker, Sondre Lerche and Odd Skålnes and is ready to be presented to the world later in the fall - but first, by:Larm!

HELENA GAO

Helena Gao is a Danish-Chinese singer, songwriter and producer. In her self-titled project she operates as all three. Backed up by atmospheric instrumentals that morph synthetics and acoustics, she voices typical gen-Z issues with honesty and humor.

HÔY LA

Ingri Høyland is Hôy La. A musical project as a translation from the apparently internal experiences of anguish, anger, and vulnerability, into the sonics that reveal how widely shared these feelings are. Hôy La’s debut-album There’s a Girls Inside My Brain Who Wants to Die is set to release October 8, 2021 via NESM.

JONATHAN FLOYD

The 20 year old R&B star Jonathan Floyd has had a good track record this past year with his three singles, including «Heartbreaker» with Arif. Amongst many achievements, it got A-listed by P3 and is about to reach a whopping 1 million streams.

MEKDES

21 year old Mekdes has come to stay. Last year, the Danish-Ethiopian artist gave us the singles «In Favor of You» and «Lonely» which have been in high rotation at P3.

MURDER MAIDS

Murder Maids were established in 2019 and certainly didn’t fly past the radars of the rock scene after releasing their debut album «Knives Out» in January through Fucking North Pole Records.

NALA SINEPHRO

Following electrifying live performances across the London scene, word of mouth quickly spread throughout the UK jazz scene of Nala Sinephro’s playing, and she was touted as one of The Guardian’s artists to watch in 2020.

UR MONARCH

Bergen-based Tomine Berge aka ur Monarch makes vibrant pop influenced by k-pop and hiphop lyricism. There’s been both Norwegian and international interest surrounding ur Monarch since the beginning, and in september you’ll get to hear what she’s made of.
