Twelve new acts confirmed for by:Larm 2021

2021

We are excited to present you with twelve new acts confirmed for this years by:Larm. Get ready for experimental club music from South East London, existential Danish pop, progressive rock with folk and psychedelic influences from the Swedish woods and coruscating UK dance-punk - Just to mention a few. Can't wait to experience this bunch live in Oslo September 30th - October 2nd!

COBY SEY

Coby Sey is the vocalist, musician and DJ from South East London offering a shifting, disorienting vision of club music. In his music, Sey experiments with live instrumentation and electronic-based productions; melding sounds with introspective lyrics into a dubbed-out anaesthesia.

EYES

Danish hardcore quintet EYES is made up of five young veterans from the Danish metal and hardcore scene. Their first album "Underperformer" showcase a unique talent for injecting new life into hardcore with a disregardful (mis)use of the genre’s many strains and traits through focused, original songwriting.

FABRÄK

With a daring blend of the wicked and the brilliant - like we’ve seen earlier in young genre-breaking groups such as Cheff Records, FABRÄK is giving us something that is yet to be discovered anywhere else, and which we can’t wait to witness in this edition of the by:Larm festival!

FANGST

Fangst’s melting pot of an expression is a result of their various musical backgrounds and ultimately gives us beautiful Norwegian rock - sporadically dangerous and occasionally sweet. A creative force that is out of control, but also hits the bull’s eye.

GAUPA

GAUPA (lynx in Swedish) is a rock band from Falun, Sweden. With an energetic singer, and a sound that mixes progressive rock with folk and psychedelic influences, their well-received debut EP made a strong impression on the international underground rock scene.

IVAN$ITO

IVAN$ITOs debut album "Everything Is Reggaeton" finally saw the light of day in 2020 and cemented him as Denmark's new Reggaeton star. He has since continued to prove he is an artist who possesses both the talent and the drive to break free from local shackles all the while gaining a big audience back home in Chile.

JAQE

Over the years, Jaqe has been selective with his releases. Since his debut "232" in 2011, he’s jumped on verses with other rappers and joined forces with Marcus Price, yet still succeeded in leaving an imprint on the Swedish hip-hop scene with his witty lines and intense flows.

MIMI BAY

Multi-instrumentalist Mimi Bergman – aka mimi bay – is crafting a delicate Gen-Z spin on age-old quandaries in her small Gothenburg apartment. Self-taught, she began writing and recording at 14 before sharing her music online. It quickly resonated with YouTube frequenters as her channel Hi I’m Mimi subsequently grew to 250 000 subs (and counting) and garnered over 20 million streams on Spotify.

REVEAL PARTY

Emily Nyhuus, the woman behind the tongue-in-cheek name Reveal Party, writes songs about existing in a chaos of complicated emotions, and how one might have to cut them off completely when they become too hard to handle. “Cut your feelings, like me” is the quiet advice given on the opening track from her debut EP "You Stole a Year of My Life".

SARA PARMAN

The folk musician, composer and violinist Sara Parkman is the perfect mix of Vikings and Berghain - folklore, heavy beats, Hildegard von Bingen, Gregorian chants and dirty violins all come together in her unique sound.

YARD ACT

Yard ACT released their first material in March 2020, coinciding with you-know-what, and with just three singles and three gigs to date, Yard Act have staked out a territory all their own. Setting up their own imprint, they released their debut 7” which can now only be found for exorbitant sums on Discogs, and they’ve won a growing fanbase with their coruscating, narrative driven, spoken word dance-punk.

YLVA

Ylva never once doubted where she was going. Since the age of three, the 20-year-old musician and songwriter has headed for stardom. With a record deal from Universal Music supporting her, there’s no doubt that the girl with the characteristic and soulful voice is headed in the right direction, and getting closer by the second.
