Freelance, Music Supervisor
Michael Hill supervises music for television and film. Recent TV projects include HBO’s Divorce, Showtime’s The Affair, Netflix’s Tales of the City, Sy Fy Network’s HAPPY! and the USA Network’s The Purge. Previously, he worked on six seasons of the Emmy Award-winning Nurse Jackie and the three-season run of HBO cult hit, Bored To Death.
On the film front, Michael has worked with such directors as Greta Gerwig (the Oscar-nominated Ladybird), John Cameron Mitchell (How To Talk To Girls At Parties, Shortbus), Todd Solondz (Weiner Dog, Dark Horse), Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes, At Any Price) and Lynn Shelton (Laggies). Adam, from director Rhys Ernst, was released in summer of 2019. Michael is working again with Bahrani on his adaptation of the Man Booker Prize-winning novel, The White Tiger, for Netflix Original Movies.
Michael began a career in music supervision after 15 years in A&R at Warner Bros. Records, where he worked with such artists as alternative rock legends the Replacements, Luka Bloom and Soul Coughing.
