Ayka er pseudonymet til norsk-tyrkiske Ayça Lingaas. I 2021 ga hun ut debut-EPen I’ll Show Myself Out Now gjennom LUFT Recordings og hun har flerfoldig med materiale som vil se dagens lys i løpet av 2022. Hun har allerede vært trubadur på scener som Henie Onstad og USF Verftet i Bergen, og spilte en av sine første konserter på by:Larm 2021.

Tekstene til Ayka er betraktninger av livets oppturer og nedturer i alle sine grandiose og banale former. Hun formidler dette gjennom et kontrastfylt lydbilde fra mykt til hardt med nikk til både elektronisk pop og tradisjonell folk. Kan for forvirringens skyld sammenlignes med Connan Mockasin og Lily Allen. Både latter og tårer er velkomne på hennes tilbakekomst til by:Larm 2022!

Ayka is the pseudonym of the Norwegian-Turkish artist Ayca Lingaas. In 2021 she released her debut EP I’ll Show Myself Out Now through LUFT Recordings, and she has loads of new material scheduled to see the light of day by the end of 2022. She already mesmerized audiences from Norwegian stages like Henie Onstad Art Center and USF Verftet in Bergen, and also played one of her first shows at by:Larm 2021.

Ayka’s lyrics reflect upon the ups and downs of life, in all their banal and grave forms. She conveys these themes through a contrastive sonic landscape ranging aesthetically from soft to rough, dipping into both electronic pop and traditional folk music. Ayka could, for the sake of confusion, be compared with the likes of Connan Mockasin and Lilly Allen. Both laughter and tears are welcome at her return to by:Larm in 2022!
