Case Study: 100 gecs and Turnstile with Cody Verdecias

Cody Verdecias is the VP of A&R at Atlantic Records and co-founder of the No-Idle mentoring imprint. He has been referred to as one of music’s most renowned taste-makers, and his passion for discovering and nurturing ground-breaking artists is hard to match. Artists Cody has worked with include Fred again.., Rico Nasty, Turnstile and 100 gecs, the latter of which he also represents on the management side.

At by:Larm 2023, Cody will run us through his A&R and management work with two wildly different but equally pioneering artists that he has worked with since the start: the hardcore trailblazers in Turnstile and the hyperpop pioneers 100 gecs. Turnstile were named by The New York Times as “one of 21st century rock’s greatest grass roots success stories”, while 100 gecs has been variously described as “derangedly catchy” (The Guardian) and “two savants making pop music sound absurdly fun” (Pitchfork).
