Dorothea Økland spiller moody og uimotståelig fengende DIY-elektropop, full av underlige teksturer og finurlige melodilinjer. Økland har skapt seg et musikalsk landskap bestående av synther, harpe, fløyter, feltopptak og vokal i kombinasjon med hjemmesnekra visuals. Vokalisten og produsenten er aktiv med prosjekter innen indiepop, frijazz, jazzpop, vokalimpro, og komponerer i tillegg musikk til moderne dans og teater. Dorothea er også å finne i band som Hey Love, Soft Punch, Klossmajor og Nothing Personal.

I mai 2021 slapp hun «Fake Flowers», den første singelen under eget navn. For denne mottok hun blant annet skryt fra Audun Vinger i Dagens Næringsliv, som kalte det “en strålende debut”.

Dorothea Økland plays moody and irresistible electronic pop with a DIY edge, filled to the brim with alluring textures and melodies. Økland’s musical landscape consists of synths, harps, flutes, field recordings and vocals in combination with visuals. She is also active in other projects, like Hey Love, Soft Punch, Klossmajor and Nothing Personal, spanning a wide spectrum of genres like indie pop, free jazz, jazz pop, vocal impro and compositions for dance and theater.

In May 2021, Økland released her first single “Fake Flowers”, which was praised by critic Audun Vinger of Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.
