Eric Timothy Carlson (b. 1984) is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. With a distinctive style characterized by complex layering of material and an astute use of semiotics, Carlson has established himself as a prolific creator of collages, paintings, publications, installations, and moving image works. Over the years, he has collaborated with a diverse group of acclaimed artists, musicians, and cultural institutions.
At by:Larm he will present his work on designing and shaping the campaign for Bon Iver's "22, A Million", and take us throught the intense, fluid work sessions with Justin Vernon and others at the Eau Claire studios, the numbers that permeate the track list, and the prevalence of cryptic symbolism throughout the Minneapolis/Wisconsin music scene.
