Presented by the Orchard
The popularity of English-language music on streaming services is shrinking - both globally and in the US. Meanwhile, local markets are developing an increasingly strong attendance of local language music. The strong influence of hip hop and related modern pop genres is driving this in all global markets.
Does this development mean that it is harder to break through internationally and that the global record labels would need to focus on local successes? Or are there more global opportunities for those genres that have borderless local language music such as metal, K-pop, reggaeton and more? We will in this session focus on exploring how labels and artists are navigating these recent developments.
The panel will be moderated by Torgny Amdam (Artist/composer)
Panelists are Ingrid Jasmin (artist), Silje Larsen Borgan (CEO & Founder, Little Big Sister), Ankit Desai (CEO & Founder, Snafu Records) and Joe Andrews (VP International, Sales & Marketing, The Orchard)
