Joe & the Shitboys

Joe & The Shitboys are four Faroese bisexual vegans who punch with brief and catchy songs of self-described “shitpunk”. This band was formed with the intention of calling out “shitty behavior and boneless homophobes and misogynists” in the conservative Faroe Islands, and elsewhere generally.

The shows are full of energy, with the barrage of songs, such as “Drugs R’4 Kidz”, "Life Is Great You Suck" and “If You Believe in Eating Meat, Start With Your Dog”, being broken up by the flamboyant frontman, Joe, roasting the audience.

After a flurry of hometown shows, including a concert at the Faroese Music Awards where they won Best Group in March 2020 – trust us, it was great – the band found fans among the visiting international press with a funny and fearless performance at their Iceland Airwaves showcase in late 2019, leading to a slot in the converted NME 100 top list for 2020.

At by:Larm we love a proper dose of hard-hitting punk, and we know we’re not alone in doing so. Joe & the Shitboys is here to stay – see you in the pit at by:Larm 2022!

Joe & the Shitboys er fire biseksuelle veganere fra Færøyene som spiller det de selv beskriver som “shitpunk”. Korte, sinte og fengende låter med tekster som går rett i strupen på hjemlandets konservatisme og utdaterte holdninger, og som jevnlig avbrytes live av krumspringene til villbass-frontmann Joe.

De var allerede et liveband av rang før pandemien, men oppmerksomheten rundt bandet har bare vokst og vokst i covid-årene. Nå er bandet mer spillesultne og farlige enn noensinne, noe plasseringer på NME 100-lista og radiospilling av Iggy Pop er vitne om.
