21 year old Mekdes has come to stay. Last year, the Danish-Ethiopian artist gave us the singles «In Favor of You» and «Lonely» which have been in high rotation at P3.

- "«Give You More» was actually the first song I produced on my own, and it's about the frustration of not having the technical skills to crystallize your musical visions. I wanted to show the world what I'm all about, but I couldn't get it to sound the way it was in my head."

Regardless, Mekdes is the first Danish artist who has been invited to record for Spotify Oyster in Stockholm; a playlist that features an incredibly talented and exciting assembly of artists.

- "«Give You More» var faktisk den første sangen jeg produserte selv, og den handler om hvor frustrerende det er når kreativiteten innad er større enn ens tekniske evner. Jeg ville gjerne vise verden hva jeg hadde å by på, men jeg kunne ikke få sangen til at lyde slik som jeg ville”, forteller Mekdes. 

Mekdes er allikevel den første danske artisten som er blitt invitert til å være med i Spotify Oyster; en spilleliste med utvalgte talentfulle artister.
