Som en sjangeroverskridende, narrativfokusert artist har Rasha Nahas skapt et særegent musikalsk univers, som er dyrket frem i og lojal til undergrunnen. For den palestinske multi-instrumentalisten og låtskriveren som nå bor i Berlin, startet forholdet til musikken i tidlig alder som klassisk gitarist. Det var ikke før i tenårene at hun begynte å skrive og spille sine egne sanger, og skapte seg en plass i undergrunnsscenen i hjembyen. Låtene drives av ærlige tekster med avvæpnende sårbarhet.
Hennes andre album, Amrat, ble utgitt i 2023 på det ledende britiske uavhengige plateselskapet Cooking Vinyl, og var Rashas første forsøk på å skrive tekster på arabisk. Amrat er et album i to kapitler som beveger seg sømløst mellom den tematiske dualiteten av urbane og rurale landskap, og er et sentimentalt verk fylt med nostalgi og lengsel. Albumet ble spilt inn på 67 Studio på de okkuperte Golanhøydene, og inneholder bidrag fra noen av de mest respekterte grunnleggerne av indiescenen i Palestina.

As a genre-defying, narrative-focused artist, Rasha Nahas has been crafting a keenly singular music universe, cultivated in and loyal to the underground. Driven by candid lyrics with disarming vulnerability, the Palestinian multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter who now resides in Berlin, started her relationship with music at the early age of 10 as a classical guitarist. It wasn’t until her teens that she would begin writing and playing her own songs, carving a place in her hometown’s underground scene.
Her sophomore LP, Amrat, released in 2023 via leading UK independent label Cooking Vinyl was Rasha’s first foray into Arabic-language lyrics. A sentimental body of work laden with nostalgia and longing, Amrat is a two-chapter album maneuvering seamlessly between the thematic duality of urban and rural landscapes. Recorded at 67 Studio in the occupied Golan Heights, the album has contributions from some of the most respected founding musicians of the indie-scene in Palestine.
The compelling album was celebrated with sold-out release shows in Germany and saw Rasha embark on a wider European tour.
