Conference: Stubbs, Salogni & Swanson

We’ve already confirmed James Lavelle from super label Mo’Wax to the by:Larm Conference. Now we can proudly announce three new conference sessions. We would like to welcome the music writer David Stubbs, producer/engineer Marta Salogni and Chris Swanson from Secretly Canadian to the conference programme.

In this special by:Larm lecture, music writer David Stubbs highlights the powerful musical moments that occur when the human is trapped in the machine or when computers try to be human, and speculates on what automation and algorithms will do for music in the future. Marta Salogni is one of Europe’s most sought after recording engineers and producers. Bjørk, MIA, Factory Floor, Kelela, Daniel Blumberg, The Orielles and Little Boots are just a few of her production credits. As an engineer, she has worked with Frank Ocean, Tracey Thorn, The xx, Goldfrapp, FKA Twigs, Bloc Party, Blossoms and many more. Don’t miss her Q&A at by:Larm! Chris Swanson will will share his experience and enthusiasm for music, and give tips on reaching audiences through diverse channels and getting the right fit for the right money in the world of sync deals.
