We rely on enthusiastic volunteers like you in order to make by:Larm happen every year. By volunteering to work at the event, you will get an insight into how the music industry works from the inside, meet interesting new people, discover new Nordic music and not least acquire valuable experience.
– Work two shifts = get free access to by:Larm conference and festival
– Volunteer t-shirt
– by:Larm tote bag
– One free meal per shift
– Great work experience plus a volunteer’s certificate
– New friends and lots of fun!
There are many different areas where we need help from volunteers – here’s a short overview:
The tent is the beating heart of by:Larm, and we need a lot of people to work at the huge bar. That means either pulling pints, helping keep things neat and tidy or giving directions to the general public.
This is the general public’s first encounter with the festival, swapping their ticket for a wristband. It’s a social hub, where they can meet friends old and new.
Delegate Check In
Delegate check in begins the day before and continues during the conference. You register both volunteers and delegates into the database as they arrive, and hand out their passes and info packs.
As a seminar assistant, you will help ensure each seminar runs smoothly. This means being present for the duration, helping with any organizational bits and pieces, adjusting microphones, handing out name tags, water for speakers etc. You also need to check delegates have their passes at the entrance.
As an artist liaison you will be by:Larm’s representative at one of the official by:Larm venues. You will be the contact person between the venue, artist and our booking department. You will greet the artist when they arrive and make sure they have what they need, and that the performence runs smoothly. Don’t worry, it’s not that difficult! We have our own technical crew, and the artists have received all necessary information before they arrive. Help is just a phone call away.
Don’t know what you want to do, but are just eager to work? Pick this option! We love people who are just eager to work, and will line you up with tasks that are most needed.
We need to document the event, with shots for our archives of bands on stage, the audience, and the conference events. If you’re handy with a camera this could be something for you. Please send links to your portfolio with your application.
You will help with set up and take down of the event. You’ll need to put in a decent shift and maybe a bit of heavy lifting. It is important to bring a can-do attitude to proceedings, as these things can take longer than expected. This is a physical role and you will also need to be willing to work outdoors. We might need riggers before the festival starts, so please inform us if you are available to work a few days beforehand.
by:Larm is a big event, with a diverse range of attendees. We need a few helpful types who know the city well and can help delegates and volunteers navigate not only by:Larm but also the city of Oslo in general.
