Lasse Lokøy er velkjent både hjemme i Norge og i utlandet som bassist i Sløtface, men den andre halvparten av dobbeltlivet hans befinner seg lysår unna det vante Sløtface-soundet. Som Lokoy har han mottatt hyllester fra blant annet NME for sitt ambisiøse electropop-uttrykk, som ligger «nærmere Gorillaz enn Green Day».
Alt begynte da Sløtface var på verdensturné etter debutalbumet. Lasse hadde jetlag og brakkesjuke i baksetet på turnévanen og var uten tilgang på TV eller bøker. Han skrudde på Logic og begynte å jobbe med egen musikk.
Lokoy har aldri hatt respekt for regler, og nå var han plutselig også uten begrensningene som følger med å spille i det vanlige bandoppsettet. Han smeltet sammen en forkjærlighet for hiphop, R&B, pop og elektronika med en naturlig sample-evne, og kom raskt fram til et helt eget sound, noe debut-EPen Can We All Go To Bed vitner om. Lokoy samarbeider her med storheter som dePresno, girl in red, Safario, Uffie og GABIFUEGO, og forventningene til hva som blir det neste er skyhøye før konserten på by:Larm høsten 2021.

A three-dimensional kaleidoscope of electropop, the very singular world of Lokoy feels light years away from his other life as the bassist of acclaimed Norwegian riot-punks Sløtface. Hailed by NME for his sonic ambition, Lokoy's sound is said to be “more at home with Gorillaz than Green Day”.
It all started when Lasse Lokøy was in the midst of a gruelling world tour with Sløtface in support of their raucous debut album, Try Not To Freak Out. Suffering from motion sickness in the back of the van and to unable to read or watch TV, his attention turned to his own music as he switched on Logic.
Having always had a disdain for rules and now free from the restrictions of a traditional rock band set-up, his knack for sampling collided with his love of hip-hop, R&B, pop and electronica to help find something truly to call his own. His debut EP, Can We All Go To Bed, defied easy categorization and was bursting with promise. Containing collaborations with the multi-million streaming dePresno and award-winning rising star Girl In Red, as well as working with rapper Safario and GABIFUEGO (the reggaeton side project from Boy Pablo’s Gabriel Munoz) plus a project with mischievous pop queen Uffie, Lokoy's take on emotive summery pop won the attention of critics and radio airplay across the globe.
