The young quartet Veps is made up of four 17 year old girls from Oslo. Having known each other since childhood, they first started playing together during middle school, picking their name after a tiny black-and-yellow-striped intruder at the practice space made them scream the Norwegian word for “wasp” in unison. “A cosmic and random occurrence”, as they fittingly described the incident.

The combined power of youthful bliss, 90s indie aesthetics and classic pop hooks has landed Veps a record deal with US label Kanine Records. New singles and the debut EP Open the Door will arrive throughout the first half of 2021 – just in time for the buzz to build up to what is certainly going to be a show for the books at by:Larm in terms of energy, fun and old school slacker vibes.

Det unge bandet Veps består av fire 17-åringer fra Oslo. Laura, June, Maja og Helena ble kjent på barneskolen og begynte å spille sammen på ungdomsskolen. Navnet dukket opp i det bandet kaller en «kosmisk og tilfeldig måte»: en veps fløy gjennom vinduet og bandet ropte følgelig «veps» i kor. 

En kombinert smak av ungdommelig giv, indieestetikk hentet rett fra nittitallet og klassiske pophooks på deres første singler har nå landet Veps platekontrakt med amerikanske Kanine Records, som gir ut debut-EPen Open the Door sommeren 2021. Akkurat i tide til å bygge opp en velfortjent buzz før det som garantert blir et forrykende show på by:Larm med energi, råskap og uimotståelige slacker-vibes.
